The front side of gau box features the Sakyamuni Buddha Thangka. Sakyamuni Buddha is the original teacher of Buddhism. He symbolizes perfect enlightenment and great compassion. He represents overcoming ignorance and eliminating afflictions and attachments, bringing inner clarity and stability. Placed on the reverse side of the gau box are the Shurangama Mantra and blessed ritual grains. Revered as the king of mantras, the Shurangama Mantra carries powerful protective energy. It symbolizes purification of negative influences, dispels disturbances and hindrances, guards the wearer’s physical‑mental stability and fosters inner purity. Blessed ritual grains are consecrated through ritual chants, signifying accumulated merit, removal of obstacles and carrying prayers for full auspiciousness.

The charm is adorned with a three-eyed agate dzi bead, matched with turquoise, chalcedony and jade. The three-eyed agate dzi bead symbolizes the gathering of fortune, prosperity and longevity, attracting wealth and guarding safety. Turquoise symbolizes vibrant vitality and well-being; chalcedony attracts gentle blessings; jade symbolizes purity, virtue and protective luck. Together, they stand for inner peace, year-round tranquility and lasting good fortune.
